Bone stock cept a little hypermax programmer and fuel pressure gauge.

223k untouched engine miles. Tranny at about 120k. Front end rebuilt about a dozen times.

Eric that is the truck I am looking for. Except I want a 5spd. I would love to find the holy grail the 98 12v with 5spd but those are really hard to find.

This pickup is a love hate relationship. That is the best way to describe it.

I got pushed this direction when I bought it. Hated that. Loved that I got a solid axle, diesel and a long box.
I love how the truck just keeps running and running. Pretty dependable, but the body and chassis are horrible.
The dash and cracked and broken over the years just from normal operation. So much so that a large portion has broken out and fallen off.
There is a broken brace inside the passenger door that rattle like crazy.
The wheel base on the truck is just such that concrete relief cuts in the highway will beat the crap out of you.
The third brake light started leaking water and ruined the headliner.
Just tired of fixing stuff we have never had to fix with any other vehicle with that many miles.
Everyday something else starts falling apart.
We keep thinkig of putting that eninge in a '86 four door bronco.

Those sound like the usual problems with them. It's a shame too. Thats a great motor and can be backed with a nice trans if built right to make a great tow vehicle. But the whats around it just can't hold up to the motor.

not a bad looking truck.

Dodges do have their problems, im in the same mind-set as you. Love the motor and power, but theres enough little problems to make you aggravated. Buuut in reality, every truck has their problems... just choose which ones you can live with i suppose.

Erik, get a Ford and be done with it.

I know a good deal on an 08 4x4, if they would only spend the money.
