:stupido: (Just suggestions ;) )

1. Smiley upload from FSB with identical short cuts.

2. Quick Reply enabled without having to link down to it.

3. Different forum sorting/catagorizing. I know impossible to make everyone happy. :fight:

I'll post more as I find them :) :beerglass:

x2 Just noticed that as well.

Another thing. Any chance of a paid member section as well, along with fewer ads? I know the site isn't up yet fully. But that is my suggestion.

So far so good.

Audra beat me to the 'smilies' suggestion, but also, the first admin(s) you select should edit the 'smilies' list, as there are a few dupes in it.
Anything else that comes up, I'll be sure to open my mouth and insert my foot.:pcguru:

Also, the Avatar Edit page won't respond to mouse clicks. Or I'm just an ignoramus. One or the other.

I deleted the dupes, i think i got them all, if I switch them to FSB smilies I'll do it later on, i kinda like having new ones but for those that "type" the smilie I understand why

the ad placement is temporary, I just enabled the default vB ad placement to check it out for now, as the site grows, yes, there may be a paid member section

here are my title suggestions, this just cleans up the text and makes it easier to read. looks a little more professional without all the "tow rigs" after all the descriptions.

-Axe most of the "towrigs" text out of the discription, most that stumble on the site are going to know what it is

-GM and Chevrolet need to be shorted to either Chevrolet or GM since they are the same

-I would replace import tow rigs with All other vehicles as this wont be very popular

-move what do you tow to the general discussion section as its more of a general topic/picture post area

-same goes for maybe a section on trailer tips for those that have little experience with differnt types of trailers, towing, type of vehicle etc

-hard to tell but I can forsee a section needed for towing accessory like hitches, trailer brake modules etc.

thats my initial input on the subject

I like the setup of the entire trailer discussion section personally. And it looks like under there is a section for towing accessories under general...

I put "tow rigs" in everything for the search engines, once the search engines start picking up more content then I will change the titles/descriptions

-GM and Chevrolet need to be shorted to either Chevrolet or GM since they are the same

good point

-I would replace import tow rigs with All other vehicles as this wont be very popular

again, this was for the benefit of search engines first and formost, I can change it later on

I need some schooling here...I was going to attach an image of my rig, and viewed the instructions on how to do so in the FAQ section but do not see an attachment icon.
I do see, however, in the Posting Rules box, I "may not" post attachments.
Is there a feature that I need to turn on somewhere?
Thnx

I don't think Joe (dsotmoon) will allow attachments to normal users, for now. But instead you need to use an image hosting site to post pics.

Eh This needs attention to all

Um some sort of anti-spam measure against humans and bots?

Maybe some subforums in each type of vehicle forum?

Example:

Ford Tow Rigs - Gas
-Tech Write Ups
-Need Help
-Modifications

Or something of the like :shrug

Normal? Splain "normal? I thought it was good to be normal.
If I were to be something other than "normal" could I post a pic?
I took a great pic of the Excursion at(on) the boat ramp today, and have one of the Dodge last week at the campground w camper latched on.....

Seriously, whats the problem with just adding an attachment?

Normal being the current user group you and me reside in. dsotmoon may create a "paid" user group which has its benefits like the sister site FSB. All of which is unknown until he gets back from his vacation. And can only be recommendations / guesses until this site is more "live" and he finishes it.

And if you really want to post a pic read my above suggestion.
But instead you need to use an image hosting site to post pics.

:listen: Go to a site like imageshack.us or something upload the images, get the forum tags and put in a post here :D

attachments are not enabled yet, for the time being, each registered member has a "picture album" in the UserCP that allows up to 10 pictures, you can use that OR as someone else said, use a picture upload site, like imageshack.us, photobucket.com or supermotors.net

we'll probably add subforums as the site grows, i like minimal forums when possible, as we see that a particular forum needs another section, its easy enough to do

Two things...

I assume you're currently working on the site as you're online, but while trying to reply to this I got:

Configuration: includes/config.php exists, but is not in the 3.6+ format. Please convert your config file via the new config.php.new.

Also another suggestion for a very necessary subforum IMHO:

General Towing/Towing Help

For towing questions not related to trailers or rigs specifically but more like towing tips, how to balance your loads, weight specs etc. :shrug

I know I could use a good walkthrough/write up on proper load balancing and restraining.

would it suffice for the time being to retitle the "general trailer" forum to "general trailer and towing" alot of it would go hand and hand

maybe :questionmark:

General Trailer (http://towrigsandtrailers.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=13)
Discuss trailer safety, object security, tow rates, hitch rates, hitch sizes, sway control, tips, tricks, set ups (bumper, ball, 5th wheel, etc) and more.
